PeeTouch

It’s Brother PT-2430PC.

PeeTouch is a portmanteau of ‘P-Touch’ (the brand) and the story that it was found at a flea market with a gentle touch of feline urine.

Software

  • Fully supported by Brother’s public SDK for P-Touch series.

  • We use free P-Touch Editor software available here.

Prerequisites

  1. Make sure that:

    1. It’s PSU is plugged in.

    2. USB cable is connected to a hub behind the printer.

  2. Turn PeeTouch on using the power button on top.

  3. Turn on Thinkcentre.

Start printing

  1. Open P-Touch Editor — shortcut must be somewhere on the Desktop.

  2. Depending on what you have, you may create a new label, select from template library, or open an existing project (i.e., for Inventory Labels).

  3. P-Touch Editor must automatically detect the printer and width of the tape inserted.

  4. Do the fun part, then click “Print”.

Hints

Enabling Chain Print to reduce tape waste.

If you’re about to print a lot of stuff, you should enable the “Chain Print” option. This prevents PeeTouch from cutting the label immediately after printing. Instead it waits until you start printing the next one so you don’t need to pre-cut an empty piece of tape. After you’ve printed the last label simply press the “Cut” button on top to fully extract and cut it.
